Born in Singapore, 2001.
Fiona Amanda Putri's artistic practice intersects between self-identity and the Malay culture. Her research is grounded in textile material and excerpts obtained from her cultural background.
Being inspired to preserve her cultural heritage in today's society, she often incorporates traditional practices into her works. She aims to bridge the traditional art forms with contemporary artistic expressions, creating a dialogue between the past and the present. Through a multidisciplinary approach, she engages with materiality, movement and performance elements to create spaces for reflection and conversation. Her work seeks to reclaim lost narratives and reimagine cultural memory in today's landscape. As an artist, Fiona embraces cultural continuity and aspire to develop deeper knowledge for her heritage and identity in her artwork.
Fiona earned her Diploma in Interior Design from Singapore Polytechnic in 2021. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts London.
