Suasana di Rumahtangga Melayu

Suasana di Rumahtangga Melayu translates to The Atmosphere of the Malay Househld. I chose to focus on the practices and traditions of my Malay culture. Family is considered the centre of the social structure, it is important for us to emphasize on our values, such as unity, courtesy and respect for the elderly. In the video, I walked bare foot to water the plants as it is normal to walk around the kampong without shoes in the olden times. I also wore the traditional baju kebaya and accessories that were passed down to me. I visited my grandparents to eat the traditional malay cuisine together and learn something new such as sewing and playing the guitar. Conversing, passing down knowledge and spending time together is what cultivates the practices of the Malay culture.
